We are getting a frequent error on one of our notebooks when they try to copy files to a network share - "too many files opened for share". Other computers can write to the share without any problems. Notebook is running Windows 7 Professional SP 1 Share is on a desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1 Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, The Too Many Files Opened For Sharing. error is usually triggered by Windows system failure. Damaged system entries can be a real danger to the overall health of your computer or laptop. There are lots of situations that can have resulted in system file errors. An incomplete installation setup, a partial file erasure, bad erasure of applications or equipment. It may also be triggered if the computer or laptop is contaminated with a computer virus or adware invasion or through a poor shut down of the machine. Any of the above events may very well result in the erasure or data corruption of Windows system data files. That corrupted system file will lead to missing or erroneously linked information and data files vital for the accurate working of the program. If the issue occurs recently, let us perform System Restore to back up the system to an earlier date before the issue appeared. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restoreKim Zhou TechNet Community Support

Hi, Sorry for delay. Based the current situation, we may need to perform In-Place upgrade to fix this type issue if you have the installation resource of Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1. In addition, you can contact to the Notebook manufacture and ask for help.Kim Zhou TechNet Community Support
